It’s main purpose is to ensure the safety of fragrance materials through a dedicated science program that protects both the consumer and the environment. Within IFRA, the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) analyses and evaluates scientific data that is used by IFRA to develop standards on fragrance material usage. This group consists of dermatologists, pathologists, environmental scientists and toxicologists.
